The bio security initiative in Abu Dhabi completed phase 4 organized by the MoI in cooperation with the Interpol counter terrorism division at the MENA coordination office. The field exercise was hosted by the international affairs bureau at the MoI civil defense academy.
The international exercise is part of the capacity building and national competence development in readiness and preparedness.
The exercise lasted a week with the participation of specialized teams representing the MoI, MoD, the ministry of climate change and environment, Ncema, the civil defense authority in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi police general command and the Dubai police general command.
Brigadier Engineer Hussain Ahmed Al Harthy, Head of the Regional Secretariat for Chemical, Biological and Nuclear Risk Avoidance in the Gulf Cooperation Council and Chairman of the Special Needs Survey Committee for activating the CBRN System for Hazardous Substances Incidents Management System at the Ministry of Interior, gave thanks and appreciation to all partners for their outstanding efforts in making this initiative a success, which enhances national capabilities and raises the skills of cadres from Workers in the fields of emergency and dealing with disasters and crises
The exercise aims to mitigate the risk of biological incidents and their negative impact. It also aims to train on prevention and response.
The exercise concluded with field exercises where participants could implement the acquired skills in the field. The bio security exercise has been implemented upon the conclusion of the 3 previous phases
