MOI's Child Protection Center Organizes an Awareness-Raising Lecture Titled "Our Children Are a Trust... Protecting Them is Our Responsibility"

The Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center, in collaboration with the Emirates Montessori Society, organized an awareness-raising lecture titled "Our Children Are a Trust... Protecting Them is Our Responsibility." Held at The Montessori Children's Garden Nursery in Abu Dhabi, the event brought together nursery staff and parents, reinforcing the center's commitment to fostering community awareness and promoting a culture of child protection.

The lecture was delivered by Abeer Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, Director of the Preventive Protection Branch at the Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center. Al Hammadi emphasized the vital role of educators and parents in cultivating a safe environment for children within families and society at large. She highlighted the significance of disseminating child protection principles and addressed key regulations and legislation safeguarding children's rights. Particular focus was given to pivotal legal articles ensuring children's welfare across various domains.

Participants were briefed on the Ministry's collaborative efforts with relevant authorities to establish a comprehensive child protection system. This initiative aims to secure children's safety both in physical and digital spaces. The lecture also shed light on the Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Strategy (2023-2026), unveiled at the Geneva Conference in 2023. Attendees were introduced to the strategy's objectives, core pillars, and practical measures to recognize and address different forms of violence against children.

In addition to exploring preventive measures, the session covered ways to report incidents of child abuse effectively. Participants were introduced to the center's integrated and user-friendly reporting mechanisms, including the hotline at 116111, online reporting via the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center website at www.moi-cpc.gov.ae, email at 116111@moi.gov.ae, the Hemayati mobile application, and the emergency line at 999.
