Second Ramadan Council of the Ministry of Interior Explores 'The Culture of a Safe Family'
The second session of the Ministry of Interior's Ramadan Council discussed the theme of "The Culture of a Safe Family," addressing three pivotal topics: safeguarding families from intrusive behaviors, the social ramifications of family disintegration, and protection against domestic violence.
This year's councils are convened under the theme "The Emirati Family... A Shared National Responsibility" and explore a range of pressing societal issues. They are organized by the Law Respect Culture Office at the General Directorate of Community Protection and Crime Prevention, in collaboration with the Security Media Department at the General Directorate of Security Support at the Ministry of Interior.
Abu Dhabi Council: A Safe Family for a United Society
Hamad Jumaa Al Kaabi hosted the Ministry of Interior’s Ramadan Council in Abu Dhabi, moderated by media personality Hamed Al Maashani. The session featured the participation of Shafi Mohamed Saif Al Neyadi; Dr. Saif Rashid Al Jabri, Board Member and Chairman of the Research and Studies Committee of the Juvenile Awareness and Welfare Association; Dr. Khaled Abdul Salam from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments; and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Al Neyadi from the Abu Dhabi Police General HQs.
Speakers underscored the necessity of instilling authentic Emirati values within families to shield children from negative external influences. They emphasized that fostering family cohesion, awareness, and the reinforcement of positive behaviors are the strongest safeguards for children’s well-being and for enhancing social unity.
Abu Dhabi Women's Council: Upholding Emirati Heritage and Values
At the Women's Council, part of the Ministry of Interior’s Ramadan series, Warda Mubarak bin Zobaa hosted the session, with media personality Asmahan Al Naqbi as moderator. The discussion revolved around "The Culture of a Safe Family."
Participants included Her Excellency Hashima Yasser Ali Al Afari, a member of the Federal National Council; Lieutenant Colonel Badriya Ali Al Hosani, a faculty member at the Police College; Fatima Mohamed Awad Al Ghassani, a human development trainer; and Dr. Fatima Abdullah Al Hammadi from the Family Development Foundation.
The panelists reinforced that the family is the cornerstone of society, carrying the responsibility of fostering cultural awareness and instilling authentic values. They stressed that family disintegration contributes to social violence and the infiltration of harmful foreign customs, highlighting the urgent need to safeguard the family unit through a collective national commitment.
Dubai Council: Strengthening Community Cohesion
The Dubai session of the Ministry of Interior’s Ramadan Council was hosted by Dr. Arif Al Sheikh and moderated by media personality Suhail Al Zubaidi. Participants called for embedding Emirati values, deeply rooted in Arab-Islamic traditions, in children and youth as a shield against negative behaviors and a means to reinforce societal cohesion.
The council was attended by Dr. Ismail Kamel Al Buraimi from the Dubai Police General HQs; Abdullah Mohamed Al Ansari, Director of the Irada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation in Dubai; and Dr. Abdullah Musa Al Beloushi from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai.
Experts emphasized the shared responsibility of national institutions and individuals in protecting families from fragmentation and violence. They highlighted the role of awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, cultural exchange, and the promotion of knowledge and ethics in fostering a resilient society.
Ajman Council: Preserving National Values in the Face of Foreign Influences
Salem Khalifa Al Kaabi hosted the Ministry of Interior’s Ramadan Council in Ajman, moderated by media personality Raed Al Shaib. Distinguished attendees included His Excellency Abdul Rahman Mohamed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department; His Excellency Mohamed Abdullah Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Ajman Government Media Office; Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi; Advisor Dr. Salah Mohamed Al Hammadi from the Ministry of Justice; Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Mani Ali Al Naqbi from the Sharjah Police General HQs; and Dr. Hashem Jassim Mohamed Al Wali from the Ministry of Culture.
The discussions centered on the significance of cultural diversity, tolerance, and combating ideological extremism while reinforcing authentic values. Speakers stressed the importance of parental engagement in children’s decision-making to cultivate strong, resilient families capable of navigating contemporary challenges. They underscored that collaboration and collective responsibility are vital to safeguarding the Emirati family structure.
Ras Al Khaimah Council: A Strong Family as the Foundation of a Secure Society
His Excellency Saeed Rashid Al Abdi Al Nuaimi hosted the Ministry of Interior’s Ramadan Council in Ras Al Khaimah, with media personality Mohamed Abdul Karim moderating. Participants affirmed that a cohesive family structure is the bedrock of a secure society and serves as the first line of defense against negative external influences.
The council brought together Dr. Nasser Al Bakr Al Zaabi, Saif Ali Al Mutawa Al Mazrouei from the Ras Al Khaimah Police General HQs, religious scholar Jamal Abdul Qader Al Shehhi, and various officers and community figures.
Speakers highlighted the pivotal role of strong family bonds in fostering social harmony. They emphasized that familial ties extend beyond the household, strengthening relationships with extended family and the broader community, thereby enhancing social support networks and reinforcing a collective sense of belonging.
Umm Al Quwain Council: The Family as the Cornerstone of Upbringing
The Ministry of Interior’s Ramadan Council in Umm Al Quwain was hosted by His Excellency Mohamed Issa Al Kashf and moderated by media personality Ahmed Al Ghafli. The session welcomed the participation of His Excellency Khalid Omar Al Kharji, a member of the Federal National Council; Brigadier Sultan Rashid Al Shamsi, Director General of Resources and Support Services at Umm Al Quwain Police; Advisor Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Al Ali from the Ministry of Justice; legal researcher Sultan Khalfan bin Ghafan; and Yousef Mohamed Al Mahrouq Al Shehhi from the Umm Al Quwain Police General HQs.
Speakers emphasized that the family is the primary pillar of social and cultural development and that its stability is intrinsically linked to societal security. Children inherit their customs and traditions from their families, making parental guidance and strong role models crucial in fostering moral values and ethical principles. This process shapes the moral fabric of society and strengthens the efforts of national institutions dedicated to social development.
Fujairah Council: Protecting the Family... A Shared National Responsibility
At the Fujairah session, hosted by His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Al Yamahi in Dibba Al Fujairah and moderated by media personality Mohamed Ghanem, speakers emphasized the importance of adhering to official directives, benefiting from awareness initiatives, and leveraging community programs to fortify families and individuals, ensuring a prosperous future for future generations.
Participants included Brigadier Dr. Suleiman Saeed Al Marshadi, Director General of Resources and Support Services at the Fujairah Police; Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Hafeeti from the Ministry of Interior; Hassan Ali Abu Al Ainin; Dr. Obaid Ibrahim Al Kaabi; and First Sergeant Jassim Heikal Al Beloushi from the Fujairah Police General HQs, alongside distinguished community figures.
Speakers stressed that cultivating a culture of responsibility, discipline, and positivity anchored in national values is key to maintaining family cohesion and safeguarding society from risks such as family disintegration, which can threaten overall social stability.
