2024 MOI Ramadan activities wrapped up

The 2024 Ministry of Interior's Ramadan activities, organized by the Police Sports Federation in collaboration with the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Interior, concluded yesterday at the Police College grounds in Abu Dhabi. The event, which spanned 10 days, saw participation from various sectors and departments of the Ministry of Interior and the Police General HQs, fostering a competitive environment aimed at promoting physical fitness and well-being to ensure the readiness and preparedness of police officers.

The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Brigadier General Walid Salem Al Shamsi, Commander of the Police College, Brigadier Dr. Omar Al Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Federation and Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Interior, and Brigadier Dr. Rashid Mohamed Burasheed, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Police Sports Council. 

During the ceremony, accolades were bestowed upon the winners of the sevens football championship, the 2.4 km running championship, and the 2.4 km walking championship. The Police College team clinched the top spot in the football sevens championship, followed by the Police General HQs team in second place and Abu Dhabi and the team of the General Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister in third place.

In the 2.4 km running championship for individuals under the age of forty, the Abu Dhabi Police General HQs secured the top three positions, while in the over-40 category, the General Command of Civil Defense team claimed first place, with the Police College team earning second place and the Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services Sector team securing third place.

In the 2.4 km walking championship for individuals under the age of forty, the Police College team secured first, with the Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs Sector team taking second place. 

In the over-40 category, the Police College team emerged victorious once again, with the Institutions team and the Penal and Correctional Institutions team securing second and third place respectively, while the Police Sports Union team claimed third place.
