The country's Drug Control Council decided to adopt the slogan "Join us to prevent it" as part of marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking scheduled for June 26th.

The decision was made during a remote meeting of the Anti-Narcotics Council, led by His Excellency Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, who also serves as the Chairman of the Anti-Narcotics Council in the country .

The meeting was attended by heads of the supreme national committees affiliated with the council, as well as several officials and directors responsible for drug control in the UAE.


In its meeting, the Council reviewed a number of topics on its agenda, the most important of which are: the results of the first quarter of 2023, of the joint framework initiative to reduce drug smuggling through the country’s ports, and the target percentages for each of the concerned authorities in the country, in addition to a comparison review between what has been achieved in terms of Results for the first quarter of last year 2022 AD, and results for the first quarter of this year 2023 AD.
The Council also discussed the results of the strategic performance indicators and their targets for drug control departments and departments for the first quarter of the current year 2023.
