The Ministry of Interior celebrated the conclusion of its summer sports initiative, which trained the children of Ministry's employees. Organized by the Police Sports Association, the initiative aimed to spread the culture of self-defense sports among these children.
The program, featuring 150 participants aged 10 to 17, included training in Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and wrestling. It also involved competitive sports events and championships to enhance the skills and tactics learned, as well as sports awareness workshops.
In his speech at the ceremony, Brigadier Mohammed Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Office of HH the Minister of Interior, stated: The senior leadership believes that investing in youth is an investment in the future, and organizing the initiative to train the children of the Ministry of Interior’s employees confirms the ministry’s keenness to provide comprehensive care during the summer vacation for the children of its employees, in order to refine their personalities and prepare them for future tasks and make their free time a lever for building bodies and minds and enhancing their capabilities, in addition to developing their skills in a way that benefits their community, the community of the UAE, which is based on cooperation, solidarity, peace, love, leadership and innovation.
Bin Dalmouj also expressed his gratitude to the Police Sports Association for organizing such sports activities and events and for providing opportunities that contribute to the children’s growth and excellence. He thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative, from the organizers to the trainers and participants. Brigadier Dr. Omar Mohammed Al Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Association Department, remarked: Today we celebrate the conclusion of the initiative to train the children of the Ministry of Interior’s members, which reflects our deep commitment to developing and empowering our youth. He added: This initiative, which is the first of its kind, has provided an opportunity for our children to enhance their physical abilities, build their personalities, and instill the values of discipline and self-confidence in them. It also enhances their ability to control themselves, focus on their goals while playing, and respect their opponents, which develops sportsmanship skills and encourages fair play and professionalism in performance.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and awards to the winning players, both male and female, who were honored amidst a festive atmosphere.
