MOI Unveils Cutting-Edge Civil Defense Technologies at FRI World Congress in the USA

The Ministry of Interior participated in the Fire and Rescue International (FRI) World Congress held in Dallas, USA, where it showcased an innovative pavilion emphasizing the digital transformation in civil defense operations and procedures.
The pavilion illustrated the UAE's future vision by presenting various themes, including smart city initiatives. Key highlights included the smart alarm system for buildings and homes, smart prevention and safety services, and advanced software for community risk assessment. Additionally, the pavilion featured a digital platform for community awareness and the ambulance services of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority. Future innovation initiatives were also showcased, particularly the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing readiness and preparedness within the Dubai Civil Defense Department.
As part of the pavilion's program, the Ministry organized a panel discussion titled "Safety Talk," focusing on "The Role of AI and the Future of Fire Departments." The session was attended by HE Major General Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defense, via remote communication technology. Dr. Lori Murray, Director of the Fire Department in the United States, also participated, enabling a comprehensive discussion on the global impact of AI and technology on fire departments.
During the event, a working paper titled "Using Artificial Intelligence and Technology to Enhance Fire Safety Operations in the UAE" was presented by Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Humaid Al Ali. Furthermore, the pavilion highlighted the I2LEC initiative through the Environmental Preparedness Project, aimed at reducing carbon emissions by decreasing fire incidents. This underscored the Ministry's commitment to environmental protection and a sustainable future.
The Ministry's participation was met with widespread praise from visitors and fire chiefs alike, fostering opportunities for international communication and cooperation. This aligns with the Ministry of Interior's goals of knowledge transfer and expanding the scope of international collaboration.
