MOI takes part in Conference of Global Public Security Forum in China
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, led the ministry's delegation at the Conference of Global Public Security Forum, themed "One World, Common Security," held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China. This event saw the participation of esteemed international security delegations.
During the forum, the Undersecretary conveyed the greetings of Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and his hopes for the forum to foster international cooperation and enhance societal and security safety. Al Khaili emphasized the Ministry of Interior's commitment to participating in the Conference of Global Public Security Forum for the second consecutive time, aiming to bolster global security and peace, with a shared vision for continued progress in this arena. He acknowledged the evolving world landscape and the significance of comprehending geopolitical, economic, and regional factors affecting security.
Furthermore, Al Khaili highlighted the UAE's role in resolving international and regional issues, aligning with the wisdom of its leadership. He expressed the Ministry of Interior's dedication, with the support of its leadership, to collaborate with nations, international organizations, and institutions, particularly in the security and law enforcement sectors.
Al Khaili introduced the International Initiative of Law Enforcement for Climate (I2LEC), officially launched by the UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior, in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime during the World Government Summit in Dubai the previous February. He noted that the initiative gained support from over 20 countries, organizations, and civil society from various regions. Al Khaili encouraged all delegations to join this initiative, considering it a vital step toward a better future, as law enforcement will play a crucial role in safeguarding societies and the planet in the years ahead.
The forum saw the participation of high-level international delegations engaging in discussions on enhancing cooperation for societal security, elevating joint international efforts in security and crime prevention, fostering developmental collaboration, and realizing global aspirations for dignified and secure living environments. In a separate meeting, Undersecretary Al Khaili met with Xu Ganlu, Deputy Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, who hosted the heads of delegations attending the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum.
During the meeting, Al Khaili extended greetings from HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the Ministries of Interior of the United Arab Emirates and the friendly People's Republic of China.
