The Council for the Development of Penal and Correctional Institutions at the Ministry of Interior recently convened its fourth meeting of 2024, chaired by Brigadier Saeed Ali Lootah, Acting Director General of Penal and Correctional Institutions.
Held at the Ras Al Khaimah Police General HQs, the meeting brought together all council members. Key topics included strategic planning, future projects, and prominent initiatives focused on advancing digital and electronic services within the correctional system. These projects aim to enhance operational sustainability and improve quality of life for inmates.
Additionally, the council discussed initiatives for implementing executive regulations under the Federal Decree Law on the Regulation of Penal and Correctional Institutions, alongside plans for the upcoming Unified GCC Inmate Week, set to take place in December 2024.
