MOI Center for Child Protection organizes an awareness event for students on Safe use of Internet

The Ministry of Interior’s Center for Child Protection recently hosted an awareness event at the Ministry’s premises, as part of the national campaign for child protection online. Under the slogan Together towards a safer Internet for our children, the event aimed to educate school students about safe internet usage. Lt. Colonel Abdul Rahman Al-Tamimi, Deputy Director General of the Office of International Affairs, emphasized the importance of safe internet practices and addressed the risks associated with improper use. Various topics were covered during the event, including the role of the Center for Child Protection, the Child Rights Law, Wadeema, and positive citizenship. Additionally, participants learned about the smart system for child protection, which includes the hotline 116111, the Hemayati application, and reporting mechanisms via email and the Center's website. The Khalifa Empowerment Program (Aqdar) conducted a workshop on cyberbullying, and the Law Respect Culture Office delivered a lecture on promoting a culture of law respect in social media platforms.
