The Ministry has approved the use of smart helmets capable of monitoring people likely to be infected with Covid-19. The technology is adopted across the specialized police teams in the UAE. Police teams and patrols will use this technology to diagnose presumed cases from a safe distance. The technology enables them to deal effectively with crowds giving an analysis of readings of their vitals. The helmet can set and read QR codes, and it is equipped with thermal cameras and sensors that enable it to recognize and store faces and recognize vehicle number plates, in addition to the night vision capability.
