Within the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makoutm, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him, and the Council of Ministers to declare 2016 as the "Reading Year"; and as part of the keenness of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to encourage reading, cultural and social initiatives among police staff, the Press Branch at the Security Media Department at the General Directorate of Security Support at the General Secretariat of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior together with the Electronic Club at the Strategy and Performance Development, launched a community-based initiative under the theme "Used Books; Recycling for Education".
