UAE Police Team Secures AJP Tour Zagreb Championship Title

The UAE Police Team, representing the Police Sports Association of the Ministry of Interior, continued its stellar performance in international championships by claiming the top spot at the AJP Tour International Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Zagreb, Croatia. Competing against 33 international teams, the UAE Police Team emerged victorious in thrilling competitions.

The team, comprising 10 players (7 men and 3 women), dominated the championship with a remarkable tally of 8 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal, earning first place overall.

Their skills and capabilities were widely praised by participants and international observers as they competed against top-tier teams from over 30 countries, including Croatia, Slovenia, Australia, Poland, Italy, Hungary, France, Brazil, Serbia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Sweden, Iran, Portugal, Slovakia, Romania, Bosnia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and the UAE.

As for the names of the winners of medals from the UAE team, Captain Obaid Khamis Al Kaabi won two gold and one bronze medal, Lieutenant Jassim Abdullah Al Darmaki won a silver medal, Lieutenant Saeed Juma Al Mazrouei won two silver medals, Lieutenant Mohammed Abdullah Al Darmaki won two gold medals, Senior Assistant Ayman Muftah Al Masmari won a silver medal, Corporal Saeed Hamid Al Balushi won two silver medals, Corporal Asma Abdul Nasser Al Subaihi won two silver medals, First Officer Shamsa Mubarak Al Ketbi won two gold medals, First Officer Sanaa Mohammed Al Kaabi won two gold medals, and Abdullah Al Sayed Shihab Al Hashemi won one gold and one silver medal.

Brigadier Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Police Sports Association, credited these achievements to the unwavering support of police leadership. He emphasized their dedication to enhancing the skills and readiness of police personnel, enabling them to excel on global platforms and represent the UAE with distinction.

For his part, Brigadier Dr. Omar Al Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Association Department, highlighted the importance of an integrated system of work, continuous training, and the application of international best practices. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to sustaining excellence and bolstering the UAE’s reputation as a leader in global sports.
