UAE Police Chiefs Council Reviews Performance, Targets, and Key Challenges

HE Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai and Chairman of the UAE Police Chiefs Council, chaired a remote meeting of the Council in the presence of police chiefs, senior officers, and officials from the Ministry of Interior. The meeting covered a range of critical topics, with key decisions made on various agenda items.

At the outset, HE Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, on behalf of the Council, welcomed His Excellency Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, as the newest member. He emphasized that his expertise would be a valuable addition to the Council, furthering shared goals and strengthening security efforts nationwide.

As part of its agenda, the Council reviewed a report on the 2024 performance indicators of the National Committee for Combating Drug Trafficking. Discussions focused on major achievements, key targets met, and challenges encountered in anti-narcotics operations, along with strategies for overcoming them.

The Council also examined a report from the Criminal Risk Committee for Communities on crime trends in 2024, highlighting the impact of preventive measures on reducing crime rates across the country.

Additionally, the Council approved the policy for organizing treatment and cancellation teams within the Ministry of Interior, outlining the procedures undertaken by these specialized teams at the national level.

Further discussions included a report on internationally wanted vehicles, analyzing major challenges and enhancing international cooperation to curb such crimes.

The Council also reviewed the draft framework for the Readiness Center, aimed at enhancing police leadership preparedness for emergency situations. Several other key issues were deliberated, with necessary decisions and recommendations made to support national security objectives.
