Ramadan Drug Prevention Forum Wraps Up
The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Drug Control General Directorate, in collaboration with the UAE Drug Control Council and the Fujairah Police General HQs, concluded the Ramadan Drug Prevention Forum. The event, held at Fujairah Umbrella Beach, witnessed significant participation from all segments of society, particularly youth and adolescents, who were the primary focus of the initiative.
Over the course of ten days, the forum featured expert-led discussion sessions, bringing together specialists, media professionals, and community leaders to address critical issues related to drug prevention and awareness. Topics included strategies for combating narcotics and psychotropic substances, methods of detection, legal considerations, and the pivotal role of youth in fostering a secure and drug-free society. Additionally, discussions highlighted the importance of family cohesion, virtual world supervision, and the community’s role in nurturing future leaders.
As part of the forum’s initiatives, the Drug Control Councils hosted prominent speakers and experts who delved into key issues surrounding child protection and preventive measures against various risks.
The event also welcomed scholars, religious leaders, academics, local dignitaries, and senior citizens, who actively contributed their insights and perspectives to enhance societal security and drug prevention efforts.
Adding an interactive dimension, the forum featured technical demonstrations, educational activities, police team performances, children’s competitions, and an art exhibition, all designed to reinforce awareness in an engaging manner. The K9 Police Dog Squad also captivated audiences with live demonstrations, showcasing their role in assisting law enforcement in drug detection and seizure.
