Light Air Sports Committee reviews progress and technical reports

Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, presided over the meeting of the Light Air Sports System Implementation Committee at the Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi. The committee comprised representatives from partner organizations.

Al Raisi commenced the session by extending a warm welcome to the attendees, underlining the paramount importance of sustained efforts to bolster the security and safety of aerial activities, ensuring the well-being of participants in light sports, and fostering their understanding of the requisite regulations, guidelines, and laws governing these activities. He emphasized the significance of staying abreast of updates issued by relevant authorities aimed at safeguarding individuals and property.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the necessity of cohesive collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders involved in light sports to realize the strategic objectives of the committee. During the meeting, various technical reports were presented, covering the latest developments in procedures for monitoring legal updates and advancements in the unified national platform for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAE DRONE). Additionally, reports detailing the services provided by several government agencies related to light sports were reviewed, alongside updates on inspection campaigns and revisions to the memorandum of understanding governing the regulation of light air sports practices among involved agencies.
