MOI Convenes Workshop on the Electronic Police Monitoring System
The Ministry of Interior, through the Federal Police Followup and After-care Department at the General Directorate of Community Protection and Crime Prevention, convened a specialized workshop in collaboration with the Federal Anti-Narcotics General Directorate under the title: Readiness and Preparedness to Activate the Electronic Police Monitoring System in Periodic Inspections.
The workshop focused on strategic preparedness frameworks and operational readiness plans, and provided a detailed exposition of the mechanisms for enforcing the legislation and decisions issued in this field. It further examined the on-ground challenges encountered during implementation and proposed effective, practical solutions. Particular emphasis was placed on institutionalizing electronic interconnectivity and enhancing inter-agency coordination to expedite the flow of data and information between all relevant entities, thereby safeguarding the transparency and integrity of procedures.
In his remarks, Colonel Dr. Ali Mubarak Al Zaabi, Director of the Federal Police Followup and After-care Department, affirmed the imperative of joint action and institutional integration among all competent authorities across the nation. He emphasized that such unified efforts are essential to fulfilling the objectives of electronic police monitoring and to advancing the indicators of security, public safety, and quality of life within the UAE. He further underscored that these efforts will bolster the UAE’s competitive global ranking, particularly in the realm of adopting innovative, AI-driven solutions.
Lamia Al Zaabi, representing the Federal General Directorate of Drug Control, addressed the significance of aligning operational practices with the regulatory decisions governing the use of modern technological systems. She stressed that such alignment is crucial to shielding individual, particularly children, from the risks of behavioral deviation and criminal influence. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of instituting comprehensive methodologies for the sustained monitoring and periodic evaluation of this demographic group, noting that the outcomes of such efforts will directly reinforce the Ministry of Interior’s strategic objectives and its mission to ensure the safety and well-being of all segments of society.
