My Family... My True Wealth Forum Wraps Up

Today, Friday, marks the conclusion of the "My Family... My True Wealth" forum aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drugs. Organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Dubai Police at Dubai Hills Mall, the forum spanned ten days and featured a diverse array of activities. These included panel discussions, advisory sessions, an innovation lab, and competitions, drawing broad participation from community members, government officials, the private sector, celebrities, specialists, and experts.

A total of 282 workshops and 630 advisory sessions were conducted during the forum, benefiting thousands of visitors and patrons.

Workshops covered topics such as drug law enforcement, parental guidance for drug prevention, counseling services, addiction recovery strategies, institutional roles in awareness and prevention, family and religious matters, positive social influences, and fostering hope. Discussions also tackled the integration of recovering addicts into society, promoting law-respecting behaviors, and safeguarding families in the digital age. The forum also introduced the Family Protection Guide and highlighted the pillars of the National Drug Prevention Program Siraj . Practical aspects included reporting methods and the Mukafih Service (80044), aimed at educating the public on drug harms and aiding victims while empowering parents to detect early signs of addiction.

The forum attracted a diverse audience, ranging from mall visitors and senior citizens to private sector representatives, national service recruits, and students from police and military academies. Their active engagement enriched discussions and heightened community awareness.

Expert insights were shared by specialists from the Ministry of Interior’s General Departments of Combating Drugs, national police commands, specialized departments and centers, the Ministry of Interior Youth Council, and international bodies like the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Local officials, ministries, and agencies also contributed, underscoring a comprehensive approach to combating drug abuse.

Innovative elements included an Innovation Center laboratory, educational competitions, games, entertainment activities, performances by police music bands, and daily folk band showcases, all fostering widespread audience participation and interaction.
