MOI Launches Summer Sports Initiative for Staff's Children
The summer training initiative organized by the Police Sports Association for the children of Ministry of Interior employees has commenced during the summer vacation period. Held at the Ministry of Interior’s Martial Arts Academy at the Vehicle Fleet Department, the initiative will continue until mid-August. It includes training and qualification in various martial arts sports, such as jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, muay thai, wrestling, and mixed martial arts (MMA).
Brigadier General Dr. Omar Mohamed Al-Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Association, stated that this initiative, the first of its kind, aims to spread the culture of self-defense sports to children, training them in various martial arts to provide them with basic skills and important knowledge. The activities also focus on enhancing the children’s ability to self-control, set goals, respect opponents, and develop sportsmanship, encouraging fair play and professionalism.
After the training period, the Police Sports Association will organize sports competitions and tournaments in various martial arts for the participants. This will enhance the skills and tactics they have acquired, culminating in rewarding prizes for the winners.
