MOI Joins International Road Safety Data and Analysis Team
The Ministry of Interior has formally joined the International Road Safety Data and Analysis Team (IRTAD) after signing an MoU with the International Transport Forum. This step underscores its determination to benefit from global expertise in road safety, adopt advanced methods of data collection and analysis, and promote policies grounded in precise indicators and internationally recognized standards.
The signing ceremony took place during the IRTAD meeting, where Brig. Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council at the Ministry of Interior, represented the UAE.
The Ministry highlighted that membership in IRTAD reflects its strategy of relying on scientific research and data-driven analysis as core tools for improving road safety. It emphasized that this milestone will help reinforce the UAE’s role on the global transport cooperation map, advance its contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and further elevate quality of life within society.
In parallel, the Ministry also participated in the International Transport Forum (ITF), convened on October 1–2 at the headquarters of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris. The forum brought together senior delegations from multiple countries and international organizations specializing in transportation and traffic safety.
The Ministry of Interior’s participation in this high-level event is part of its continuous efforts to build international partnerships and strengthen collaboration with global institutions and public benefit entities. Such initiatives aim to modernize the traffic safety system, reduce road accidents and fatalities, and advance the UAE’s long-term road safety objectives.
Through this active global engagement, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to expanding international cooperation, boosting its ties with leading organizations, and positioning the UAE as a model of excellence in security, safety, and wellbeing.
