Child Protection Center Discusses Digital Safeguarding at World Media Congress
The Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center actively participated in a key panel discussion at the World Media Congress, currently underway in Abu Dhabi. The session, titled Conscious Media: Promoting Children’s Welfare in the Digital Age, addressed the pivotal role of media in protecting and empowering children.
Major Khalid Al Kaabi, Director of the Child Protection Center, underscored the significance of conscious media in enhancing child safety. He highlighted the need for increased awareness, diligent follow-up, and the development of cultural content that fosters positive behaviors. Major Al Kaabi also emphasized the importance of collaboration with national institutions to strengthen child protection efforts and uphold children’s dignity in the digital era. He called attention to the challenges posed by the proliferation of digital platforms and their widespread use among children and adolescents, which can expose them to exploitation and blackmail by online predators.
The session featured insights from experts representing various national ministries and institutions.
