Umm Al Quwain Police Community Department joins Traffic and Patrols Department in reducing deaths on Mohammed bin Zayed road
As part of the awareness-raising campaign recently launched by the ministry of interior, "the safer you are, the happier they are", a community police team at the Umm Al Quwain police GHQ is working on difference sites of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road.
The drive is intended to reduce road fatalities on the road especially on this time of the year which witnesses an increased presence of desert campers.
Director of traffic and patrols at Umm Al Quwain police, Lt Colonel Saeed Obeid bin Arran, said the department was ready to take part in the ministry of interior's challenge to reduce road fatalities on five dangerous roads across the UAE, being taken up as part of the government accelerators.
"Brochures containing safety tips especially during foggy weather will be distributed to the road users", he indicated.
He affirmed that the department is currently implementing a number of initiatives aiming at creating a safe accident-free environment, in a bid to maintain road safety.
He urged all motorists to comply with the specified speed limits, and to avail the information contained in the awareness messages, to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
The government accelerators constitute a future work mechanism that involves joint work teams of government officials, private and academic sectors. They concentrate on four key sectors and areas including, the national indicators, polices, programs and initiatives and government services
The accelerators teams will work in one place and under one umbrella to raise the pace of achieving the national agenda and expedite the implementation of the strategic government projects in short periods.
