International training course to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement forces in dealing safely with people of determination and enhancing their response to them in emergency situations
The Safe Communities Forum organized an international virtual training course with the participation of many international experts on how police cadres around the world can empower and enhance their capabilities in dealing with people of determination, especially in times of crises and emergencies.
The training course also included a basic training module on building contact points for police officers, scientific identification of types of disabilities, potential adaptations, challenges, and best practices for law enforcement engagement, stress reduction and communication strategies, in addition to realistic case studies and implementable recommendations.
The training course was attended by experts and specialists from the Ministry of Interior in the United Arab Emirates and the general commands of the police in the country, in addition to international specialists.
The speakers first discussed the role and efforts of the United Arab Emirates in the areas of protection and public safety and its pioneering role in protecting all segments of society. After that, visions from the World Police Summit were presented on public safety and emergency response, education and training strategies for first responders, and the British experience in responding to crises and developing related policies was presented, in addition to studies of real cases from the United Kingdom and Europe.
