Brigadier Mohammed Al Dhaheri elected as President of the International Police Sports Union (USIP)

The General Assembly elected Brigadier Mohammed Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Police Sports Union in the United Arab Emirates, as President of the International Police Sports Union (USIP) for a new presidential term.

This came during the work of the 16th General Assembly Conference of the International Police Sports Union (USIP), which was hosted by the capital, Abu Dhabi, and was opened in the presence of Major General Salem Ali Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services, and General Gonzalo Londono, Secretary General of the International Police Sports Union (USIP), members of the Executive Office, and heads of participating delegations.

Al Dhaheri was elected by acclamation for this international position, and Brigadier Omar Mohammed Al Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Union Department at the Ministry of Interior, was elected as Assistant Secretary General of the International Police Sports Union, in appreciation of the role of the United Arab Emirates, which is keen to enhance international meetings and joint global work, and build a system of international cooperation.

At the opening, Major General Salem Ali Mubarak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services, conveyed the greetings of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to the attendees and wished them continued success.

He stressed that the UAE is keen to enhance international meetings and joint cooperative work, in a way that ensures the achievement of the strategic objectives of international organizations and institutions, in order to further exchange expertise and knowledge and develop police work in all fields.

He wished the attendees success and the achievement of their efforts in encouraging police sports, in line with the goals of spreading the culture of fair competition, deepening knowledge and sports culture, and disseminating them among police agencies around the world.

Then, General Gonzalo Londono, Secretary General of the International Police Sports Federation (USIP), delivered a speech in which he expressed the International Police Sports Federation's thanks to the United Arab Emirates for hosting the General Assembly of the Federation, stressing the keenness to achieve more successes and achieve the goals of the International Police Sports Federation (USIP) in promoting police sports and the World Police Meeting.

In turn, after being elected as President of the International Police Sports Union (USIP), Brigadier Mohammed Hamid Dalmouj Al Dhaheri thanked everyone for their great trust in him by electing him as the new President of the Union, and said: "This great trust is a great responsibility through which I pledge to work hard with the Executive Office to achieve the goals of the Union, and enhance its path towards further progress and success."

He added that the vision as President of the Union is based on four main axes, aiming to enhance the role of the Union and achieve its strategic goals in making the Union more effective and vibrant by activating its sports programs, expanding the scope of joint activities between member states, stimulating more international cooperation, and increasing the number of member states by promoting the goals of the Union, and attracting more police agencies around the world to join, which enhances the Union's global position and expands the scope of its influence.

He explained that among the foundations is enhancing the capabilities and physical readiness of police personnel; By making the Federation a vital platform for developing the physical and athletic competencies of law enforcement personnel, which positively reflects on their field readiness and efficiency in performing their duties, and enhancing community initiatives by supporting activities that strengthen the links between law enforcement personnel and the community, which contributes to building a safe and stable society, and enhances the community's confidence in the security forces.

He expressed his belief that sports are capable of transcending borders and strengthening the bonds of cooperation between different peoples, and that the International Police Sports Federation should be a global model in promoting sports and human values ​​among police agencies, reiterating his thanks for this trust, and looking forward to the coming years full of joint work, sustainable successes, and fruitful cooperation between all member states, as we will continue the journey towards a brighter future for the International Police Sports Federation.

During the meetings, a number of topics related to the development of police sports, international work and coordination with sports institutions and federations were discussed. The accession of newly joined countries was also signed, the former Secretary-General, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, President of the International Police Sports Federation (USIP), was honored, the minutes of the 15th General Assembly of the International Federation were approved, the Secretary-General’s report and the final financial report of the Treasurer were heard, and the elections of the executive and technical committees were held. The future plan of the International Police Sports Federation (USIP) was also presented, as well as a number of matters on the agenda of the sporting event. Colonel Mohammed Al-Sadiq from the Arab Republic of Egypt and Colonel Ronnie Catnuma Martins from the Dominican Republic were elected as members of the Executive Body of the Federation.
