The Ministry of Interior's First Ramadan Councils Discuss "The Balance of Emirati Identity"
The first session of the Ministry of Interior's Ramadan Councils (Al Majalis) discussed the topic of "The Balance of Emirati Identity" by addressing three themes: balancing national values and scientific development, positive representation abroad, and positive interaction with other cultures.
This year's councils are held under the theme "The Emirati Family... A Shared National Responsibility." They address a variety of important topics and themes inspired by the directives of the UAE's wise leadership to achieve societal and family stability and consolidate a societal, national, and security culture among all members and institutions of society. These themes contribute to strengthening the principles of social cohesion and positive interaction among various segments of society to achieve the government's wise directives.
The Ministry of Interior's councils are organized by the Law Respect Culture Office at the General Department of Community Protection and Crime Prevention and the Security Media Department at the General Department of Security Support at the Ministry of Interior.
Abu Dhabi Council: The UAE is a Global Model of Coexistence
The Ministry of Interior Council, held in the capital, Abu Dhabi, hosted by Buthan bin Qaran Al Mansouri and moderated by media personality Mohammed Abdul Karim, discussed the balance of Emirati identity in the topics presented, including ways and means of preserving identity and instilling authentic values.
The council was attended and spoke by Colonel Dr. Saif Salem Al Khuraibani Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Crime Prevention; Colonel Sultan Hareb Al Ketbi, Director of the Law Respect Culture Office at the General Department of Community Protection and Crime Prevention; Colonel Khalid Rashid Al Zeyoudi; Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Abdul Nasser Hassan Al Zaabi, faculty members at the Police College; and Professor Faisal Mohammed Al Shamsi from the Juvenile Awareness and Care Association at the Abu Dhabi Police General Command.
Abu Dhabi Women's Council: Emirati Leadership
At the Abu Dhabi Women's Council, part of the Ministry of Interior's Ramadan Councils this year, hosted by Mouza Mubarak Al Qubaisi and moderated by media personality Ahlam Al Suwaidi, National Council member Her Excellency Mira Sultan Al Suwaidi, Dr. Dhabia Zayed Abdullah Al Mazrouei, specialist Shamsa Matar Al Neyadi, Lieutenant Colonel Amna Mohammed Al Balooshi from the Abu Dhabi Police General Command, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Badriya Ali Hassan Al Hosani, faculty member at the Police College, and Major Dr. Hawa Youssef from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior spoke.
The speakers emphasized the need to continue the UAE's journey of excellence and leadership by strengthening national identity to preserve the legacy of our forefathers.
Dubai Council: National Values and the Need to Consolidate Them
At the Ministry of Interior Council held in Dubai, hosted by Ali Abdullah Al Shafar and moderated by media personality Mohammed Al Ajmani, the meeting was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Major General Ahmed Thani bin Ghalita Al Muhairi, Director of the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology at Dubai Police. Speakers included Lieutenant Colonel Ali Al Matrooshi, Salem Al Salem, Government Performance Expert, and Advisor Abdul Moneim bin Suwaidan.
The Council recommended the importance of intensifying national media efforts to promote values, customs, and traditions through media programs, and developing a digital platform that promotes Emirati values in other languages for the benefit of residents of the country, and that strengthens the efforts of national institutions in conveying Emirati culture to the world.
Ajman Council: Balancing Authenticity and Modernity
At the Ministry of Interior's Ramadan Council, hosted in Ajman by Sultan Rashid Al Matrooshi and moderated by media personality Ahmed Al Ghafli, speakers included His Excellency Mohammed Al Kashf, Member of the Federal National Council; His Excellency Obaid Ali Al Muhairi, former Member of the Federal National Council; His Excellency Abdul Rahman Ali Al Shamsi, Director of the Legislation Department at the Ajman Ruler's Court; poet Saif bin Sulaiman Al Shamsi; and Abdullah Al Shehhi from the Ajman Police General Command.
Fujairah Council: Emphasizing the Importance of Instilling National Identity
In Fujairah, Dr. Salem Ali Al Yaleili hosted the Ministry of Interior's Ramadan Council, moderated by media personality Mohammed Al Naqbi. The Council featured speakers and was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Hamdan Al Hefeiti, Deputy Director of the Office of Respect for the Law at the General Department of Community Protection and Crime Prevention; Dr. Saeed Ahmed Al Saghiri and Dr. Hamad Al Zeyoudi from the Fujairah Police General Command; preacher Hassan Abdullah Abu Al Ainin from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments; and Dr. Ali Obaid Al Zaabi, Assistant Director of the University of Kalba for Community Affairs, Public Relations, and Media.
The Council discussed the balance of Emirati identity through the proposed topics.
Ras Al Khaimah Women's Council: Continuous Efforts to Balance Emirati Identity
In Ras Al Khaimah, Mona Mohammed Bani Malik hosted the Ministry of Interior Women's Council, moderated by media personality Asmahan Al Naqbi. Speakers included Khadija Mohammed Al Ajil Al Tunaiji from the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command, Moza Obaid Saeed Ali Al Kalbani from the Ministry of Interior's Events Department, and Khuloud Mohammed Al Langawi, a faculty member at the Police College. The speakers emphasized the need to strengthen family and social ties by preserving cultural heritage and national identity, striking a balance between tradition and modernity, and developing intergenerational relationships while embracing shared responsibility.
Umm Al Quwain Council: Pioneering Emirati Initiatives
Her Excellency Mona Rashid Tahnoon, a member of the Federal National Council, hosted the Ministry of Interior Women's Ramadan Council in Umm Al Quwain. Moderated by media personality Hessa Saif, it is part of this year's Ministry of Interior Ramadan Councils, which address societal and national values in support of efforts to implement the directives of the wise leadership.
Speaking at the council were Her Excellency Naema Abdullah Saeed Al Sharhan, Member of the Federal National Council; Her Excellency Sheikha Issa Ghanem Al Ari Al Ali, Former Member of the Federal National Council; Moza Obaid Saeed Ghubash Al Muhairi, Chairperson of the Ousha bint Hussein Cultural and Charitable Rewaq; and Lamia Ali Al Zarouni, from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior.
