MOI Participates in the “Family and Community” Conference as Part of the Year of Community Initiatives
The General Directorate of Community Protection and Crime Prevention, represented by the Federal Police Care and Follow-up Department, participated with a working paper in the second international conference titled Family and Community, organized in coordination with Ajman University. The conference, held under the theme Families Shape a Sustainable Future, forms part of the initiatives aligned with the objectives of the Year of Community.
Colonel Dr. Ali Mubarak Al Zaabi, Director of the Police Care and Follow-up Department at the Ministry of Interior, presented a working paper at the conference, which convened a distinguished assembly of professors, experts, and specialists from various regional, Arab, and international entities. The event took place at the Sheikh Zayed Convention and Exhibition Center at Ajman University, addressing the role of families in achieving intergenerational sustainability across cultural, environmental, economic, educational, and community security domains.
In his presentation, Colonel Dr. Al Zaabi outlined the Ministry of Interior’s role and endeavors in adopting innovative community-oriented preventive strategies focused on the family unit and its various segments, with the aim of proactively shielding them from potential threats and risks that could adversely affect them and, by extension, the broader social fabric.
He underscored that the family constitutes the cornerstone of societal security and affirmed that human capital is central to sustainable development achievable through the preservation of family structure, values, and behavioral norms to realize comprehensive and enduring security, in alignment with the vision of the wise leadership.
He further highlighted the Ministry’s emphasis on anticipatory processes and proactive measures to foresee challenges and risks confronting the family. In addition, he noted the Ministry’s adoption of awareness and educational methodologies with tangible behavioral outcomes, utilizing innovative, intelligent, and professional tools tailored to the dynamics of family life. He also stressed the critical role of behavioral monitoring and follow-up in safeguarding family members from delinquency or susceptibility to crime-inducing factors.
In conclusion, Colonel Dr. Ali Mubarak Al Zaabi reiterated that the preservation and protection of the family is a collective and integrated responsibility, pursuant to the directives of the UAE government to advance the concept of comprehensive and sustainable security and to enhance the wellbeing within Emirati society.
