Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Meets Russian Interior Minister in Moscow and Attends Launch of Strategic Police Dialogue
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, met with H.E. Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of the Interior of the Russian Federation, during his official visit to the Russian capital, Moscow.
The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, underscored the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two friendly nations in the security and police sectors, and explored ways to further bolster them. Discussions also addressed various issues related to enhancing cooperation and international joint efforts aimed at promoting societal security.
His Highness and the Russian Interior Minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of crime prevention and control between the UAE Ministry of the Interior and its Russian counterpart. In addition,
His Highness and the Russian Minister of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in combating crime between the UAE Ministry of Interior and the Russian Ministry of Interior. This opens up broad horizons for coordination in the exchange of information and expertise, the implementation of joint training programs, and the fight against organized crime, drug crimes, child sexual exploitation, cybercrime, environmental crimes, and the protection of cultural heritage.
The two sides witnessed the official launch of the UAE-Russia Strategic Police Dialogue, a key initiative that reinforces their expanding strategic partnership across all domains.
The dialogue seeks to deepen mutual ties, foster the exchange of expertise in combating transnational crime, and share best practices adopted by both nations drawing on their extensive experience and accomplishments in modern policing.
The meeting and MoU signing ceremony were attended by His Excellency Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; and Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police. The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and a number of officials and officers from the UAE and Russian Ministries of Interior.
