MOI and UNODC Launch Phase II of “Training of Trainers in Combating Human Trafficking”

The Ministry of Interior, through the Human Rights Department – Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organized the second phase of the specialized course titled Training of Trainers in Combating Human Trafficking. The event took place at the Federal Police School in Sharjah.
This initiative reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to fulfilling international and regional obligations in the fight against human trafficking, with a focus on victim protection and strengthening international cooperation particularly in the area of building the operational and technical capacity of law enforcement personnel.

The program is intended to empower professionals in the field by equipping them with advanced instructional skills and methodologies. It aims to develop their ability to guide, train, and mentor others effectively within anti-trafficking frameworks.
Colonel Mohammed Khalifa Al Hamoudi, Chairman of the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee at the Ministry of Interior, officially inaugurated the course. The opening was attended by Dr. Muhannad Al Duwaikat, UNODC expert, along with specialists from the Ministry and senior police officials from various local departments. The course is a key outcome of the strategic partnership between the Ministry and UNODC, aimed at enhancing human resource capabilities and supporting the implementation of the National Action Plan developed by the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking.
