Emirati Women's Day Celebration at the Ministry of Interior

 The Ministry of Interior commemorated Emirati Women's Day, observed annually on August 28, under the theme "Partnering for Tomorrow." This celebration aligns with the nation's broader recognition of the occasion, held under the esteemed patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, known as the "Mother of the Emirates." The event honors the significant contributions and achievements of women in the nation’s development. The ceremony took place at the Ministry's headquarters and was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Salem Mubarak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, and several other officers. In his address, Major General Al Khaili remarked, "Today, we celebrate a cherished occasion that fills us with pride as the UAE marks Emirati Women's Day. This day reaffirms the crucial role women play in society’s development and their active participation in the nation’s comprehensive and sustainable growth, guided by our wise leadership." He further added, "This year's theme, Partnering for Tomorrow,’ resonates with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who is a staunch advocate for women's empowerment. It also reflects the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, whose pioneering initiatives have been instrumental in supporting and empowering women across all sectors. Her Highness’s vision is to ensure women's full participation in all areas, thereby enhancing the quality of life in our society." Al Khaili lauded the accomplishments of Emirati women, describing them as a source of pride and key contributors to the nation’s success in achieving sustainable development goals. He emphasized their vital and positive role in the UAE’s progress, noting that their efforts have established an exemplary model of empowerment and community building recognized globally. Attendees viewed a presentation highlighting the distinguished role Emirati women have played in the nation’s renaissance, development, and advancement across various fields, as well as their contributions to national security and safety. Following the ceremony, the Undersecretary toured an accompanying exhibition organized by the Social Solidarity Fund for Employees of the Ministry of Interior "Fazza," featuring participation from several national companies and institutions. The event concluded with the honoring of several women who have demonstrated excellence and success in various fields, recognizing their ongoing contributions to the nation and society. Additionally, various sectors and departments within the Ministry of Interior, including the Police College and the Air Wing Department in Sharjah, celebrated Emirati Women's Day by honoring outstanding female members for their role in the nation’s administrative and field development, as well as their contributions to the UAE’s sustainable progress.  


Memorandum of Understanding 

In conjunction with the celebration, the Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women's Sports. The MoU aims to enhance strategic and training cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise in women's sports between the two entities. The signing was witnessed by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili on behalf of the Ministry of Interior, and Talal Al Hashemi, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women’s Sports, represented the Academy. This agreement is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to empower women and promote leadership in sports, fostering a healthy lifestyle, improving women's health and physical fitness, and implementing best practices and standards in women’s sports at local, international, and regional levels.
