Headed by Dhahi Khalfan: UAE Police Chiefs Council Holds 4th Meeting of 2024

The UAE Police Chiefs Council, chaired by H.E. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, convened its fourth meeting of 2024. Held virtually, the meeting brought together police chiefs, senior officers, and Ministry of Interior officials to discuss and resolve a range of important issues.

The Council proceeded to review the outcomes of the Permanent Awareness Committee's child protection initiatives for the first half of 2024. Khalfan stressed the importance of evaluating the effectiveness of the various educational campaigns led by police authorities nationwide, including their impact on public awareness and societal engagement. A key topic on the agenda was the proposal for a "Police Encyclopedia This initiative aims to document the rich police heritage and historical milestones of the UAE.

The encyclopedia will cover a wide range of subjects, including the evolution of legal and administrative systems, organizational structures, police laws, the criminal justice framework, and notable crime cases. It will serve as a valuable resource for researchers in police sciences, as well as for professionals and scholars in fields such as history, law, social sciences, and public policy.

The Council also examined the progress of the electronic linkage project for crime detection partners, specifically the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This system, designed to operate on a unified electronic platform, facilitates the management, monitoring, and tracking of sample procedures in the Ministry's affiliated laboratories. Further discussions centered around the National Indicator of Deaths Resulting from Road Accidents, focusing on the mortality rate for the first half of 2024 one of the key metrics the Council closely monitors.

Additionally, the Council reviewed updates to the "Police Station in Your Phone" app, proposing modifications to the app's name to better reflect its function and scope.

The meeting concluded with the Council addressing other agenda items, making the necessary decisions and recommendations on each.
