The UAE Search and Rescue Team continues its humanitarian mission in Libya supported by air ambulance aircraft and drones

The Emirati Search and Rescue Team continues its humanitarian missions in the sisterly country of Libya, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership, with the support of air ambulance aircraft and drones to carry out daily tasks within the framework of helping the brothers confront the effects of the floods resulting from the heavy rains that Libya witnessed.

These advanced specialized technologies and mechanisms work to accelerate and expand search operations and the joint work of other specialized teams, such as the Emirati Disaster Victim Identification Team (DVI) and the ambulance, rescue and search teams, and facilitate the task of searching for missing persons, rescuing and retrieving victims through safe access to high areas and rugged terrain.

More than 45 air sorties were carried out by the four aircraft present with the Emirati team over a period of two weeks, covering approximately 14 thousand square kilometers. The locations of missing persons were identified along the shores of Derna, so that the coordinates were sent to the teams participating in the search and rescue operations to reach them and deal with them.

The aircraft participating in the Libya humanitarian mission are part of the Emirati search and rescue team and are specialized in the fields of ambulance, evacuation, air rescue and reconnaissance and are equipped with qualified and specialized Emirati national cadres with the highest levels of training, and have accompanied the team from the moment it arrived in sisterly Libya.

The work of the Emirati search and rescue team continues in its lofty mission, under the guidance of the wise leadership, in supporting teams of Libyan brothers through continuous daily tasks in coordination with the concerned Libyan authorities, including relief, search, and ambulance work, and providing support, assistance, and training to the cadres working in the rescue.
