MOI Council Highlights Rights and Preventive Protections for Vulnerable Groups in Society
The Ministry of Interior, through its Office of the Culture of Respect for the Law, in partnership with the Human Rights Department, held a community awareness session at the Police Sports and Shooting Club, hosted by the Ajman Police General HQs. The session focused on "International and National Mechanisms for
Protecting the Rights of Vulnerable Groups." Experts discussed the laws and regulations safeguarding vulnerable groups, including senior citizens, people of determination, women, and children. These groups require protective and preventive guarantees to ensure their human rights, empower their roles in society, and provide them with equal opportunities for self-fulfillment without facing discrimination, exploitation, or injustice. The speakers emphasized that the Ministry of Interior aligns with the nation's wise leadership and global standards by prioritizing the welfare of these groups.
Efforts have been dedicated to implementing specific mechanisms and procedures that ensure all police, service, and security interactions uphold the rights and protections of these individuals. Attendees included personnel from the Ministry’s Human Rights Department, such as First Lieutenant Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Lieutenant Abdullah Ali Al Shamsi, and Dr. Lamia Ali Al Zarouni.
