Under the slogan “The UAE Codes, We Apply”, MOI organizes a forum for “Ministry of Interior Programmers”

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Ministry of Interior Youth Council, recently organized the Ministry of Interior Programmers forum with the theme The UAE Codes, We Apply at the Ministry’s headquarters. The event was attended by HE Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, as well as Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, along with department directors, ministry officers, and a diverse group of academics, programmers, and students.

This forum was a crucial component of the Ministry of Interior's active participation in the "UAE Codes" activities. Its primary goal was to support government initiatives and foster the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the realm of artificial intelligence, empowering young individuals to create and shape a future driven by innovation and modern technology.

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama emphasized the UAE's commitment to exploring the potential of artificial intelligence and expanding its applications, all while cultivating an environment conducive to practical AI solutions that can benefit society at large. Proactive governments, he pointed out, are best suited to lead the development of AI and its future applications.

Al Olama commended the Ministry of Interior for its strategic adoption of AI technologies and dedication to delivering high-quality services through digital transformation. This strategic vision has solidified the Ministry's position as a regional and local leader in the field of digital transformation. He further underscored the transformative potential of AI across various sectors, including manufacturing, health, education, business, agriculture, and the environment. AI's capacity to support strategic decision-making processes through big data analysis and its ability to address challenges and improve the quality of life were highlighted, reflecting its pivotal role in shaping the future. During the forum's activities, HE Omar Sultan Al Olama inaugurated the "Artificial Intelligence" exhibition. Various departments within the Ministry of Interior showcased innovative solutions, such as smart fire-fighting systems, facial fingerprint technology, electronic certificates systems, electronic monitoring systems, and behavioral rewards systems, all demonstrating the practical applications of AI.

The forum's agenda featured a discussion session covering four key topics: the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence, its applications in the realm of security and safety, the future of jobs in the age of AI, and the role of the Office of Artificial Intelligence in empowering youth. Brigadier General Mohamed Saeed Al Shamsi, Director of the Programs and Smart Solutions Department at the Ministry of Interior, elaborated on the role of AI in enhancing security and safety, emphasizing its ability to rapidly and accurately analyze data. AI applications in this field encompass security monitoring, cyber threat detection, crime and disaster prediction, emergency response improvement, and identity verification through facial and iris recognition, ultimately contributing to traffic safety and accident reduction.

Major Dr. Mohamed Al Matrooshi, Director of the Talent Center, addressed the evolving landscape of jobs in the era of AI. He stressed the need for individuals to develop new skills aligned with modern technologies to adapt to the changing labor market. He emphasized that young people should focus on acquiring practical skills, such as programming languages, to support the digital economy and secure a better future in this new era.
