A delegation representing the human rights sector from the Kingdom of Bahrain conducted an official visit to the Ministry of Interior on Thursday. This visit, part of the delegation's program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, aimed to explore the Ministry's initiatives in promoting and safeguarding human rights. Mohamed Ali Al Shehhi, Director of the Human Rights Department, hosted the delegation led by Dr. Yousef Abdul Karim Bujjari, Director General of Human Rights and International Law.
The meeting included discussions on various topics of shared interest, with the delegation learning about the efforts of key Ministry departments, including the Human Rights Department, Social Support Department, Ministry of Interior’s Center for Child Protection, Anti-Trafficking Committee Bishr, Women’s Police Council, and the Youth Council of the Ministry of Interior. Brigadier General Al Shehhi emphasized the Ministry's commitment to instilling a culture of respect for human rights among its personnel. He highlighted ongoing collaboration with relevant agencies, stressing the importance of enhancing the country's regional and global standing.
Al Shehhi underscored the UAE's foundational vision that prioritizes human development, emphasizing the constitutional commitment to equality and justice. He articulated the Ministry's continuous efforts to advance human rights through initiatives, programs, and collaboration with competent authorities.
