The International Security Alliance organizes a virtual introductory workshop for drug smuggling and illicit substances investigation experts
The International Security Alliance recently organized a virtual training workshop for sea port experts, aimed at fostering cooperation and exchanging experiences among law enforcement professionals. The workshop focused on enhancing the protection of seaports, facilitating more effective information exchange and joint operations, and leveraging advanced technologies to strengthen capabilities within law enforcement agencies.
Various topics were covered during the session, including the exchange of experience, knowledge, and best practices in protecting sea ports and combating illicit smuggling activities. A presentation by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime addressed the challenges posed by illicit trade and smuggling attempts through ports, along with future opportunities for cooperation and the security challenges facing sea ports.
The workshop attracted a diverse range of participants, including police experts, specialists in seaport security, heads of anti-drug units, customs officials, local legal workers, drug control investigators, cybersecurity experts, and representatives from international organizations and agencies.
