The Civil Defense General Command in the Ministry of Interior called upon citizens and residents to abide by mandatory safety requirements and standards in winter camps. This falls in line with the awareness initiative launched by the general command’s key awareness plan for 2018, to reinforce public safety and spread the culture of prevention amongst community members.

Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Civil Defense General Commander-in-Chief said that the civil defense endeavors to set out a set of rules and preventive measures before and during the winter months, which witnesses an increased number of camping trips in the wilderness. To this end, Civil Defense departments affiliated to the General Command of Civil Defense at the countrywide level are assigned with the task of implementing the civil defense winter plan, by boosting readiness to handle any incidents that may be caused by unpredicted weather conditions during the winter season. the Civil Defense General Command also endeavors to distribute awareness leaflets and messages across the various media and social networking sites, to acquaint community members with the necessary measures to be taken during winter months to maintain their property and preserve their safety.
