The Civil Defense General Command provided the regional civil defense departments in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Um Al Quwain, Fujairah and Al Ain, as well as the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Academy with Fire Blankets for car fires. The step comes in line with the efforts and endeavors of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Civil Defense General Command to develop the equipment and machinery in support of firefighter in implementing their tasks of extinguishing fires using advanced hardware.

Major General Dr. Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Civil Defense General Commander-in-Chief at the Ministry of Interior said that areas with high rates of car fires were a point of focus during the distribution process. He mentioned that the fire blankets proved their efficiency during a practical scenario of a car fire executed at the Civil Defense Academy, and the new products proved efficient in extinguishing car fires.

He noted that the experiment was significant and accomplished its set targets. He continued that the new technology proved its efficiency and speed in extinguishing car fires with less efforts and costs compared to traditional methods.
