MOI Child Protection Center Steps Up Awareness-Raising Efforts to Safeguard Children

The Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center, in collaboration with ADNOC Schools in Abu Dhabi, conducted an educational lecture titled The Safety of Our Children is Our Priority. The event, part of the Together for a Safe Winter campaign, was attended by teaching staff and approximately 450 fourth- and fifth-grade students. It aimed to raise awareness among children about protecting themselves from potential dangers, especially in cyberspace.
Captain Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Head of the Prevention, Awareness, and Guidance Department, addressed online safety measures, emphasizing the importance of managing personal data privacy, avoiding interactions with strangers in electronic games, and reporting incidents of blackmail or online luring to parents. He also highlighted the risks of school bullying, its legal repercussions, and the importance of fostering a respectful school environment while encouraging students to report bullying incidents to teachers and parents.
Abeer Abdul Rahim Al Hammadi, Director of the Preventive Protection Branch, focused on winter safety tips, such as using bicycles under adult supervision, wearing helmets and warm clothing, and avoiding dangerous areas like public streets or waterlogged locations.
The lecture concluded with a briefing on the Ministry’s child protection reporting channels, including the hotline (116111), the Ministry’s website (www.moi-cpc.gov.ae), the (Hemayati) app, and the emergency number (999), ensuring children and their guardians are well-informed about how to seek help in cases of abuse.
