UAE Police Chiefs Council Hails Major Drop in Road Accident Fatalities..Meeting Reviews Crime Prevention Security Initiatives and Procedurds

H.E. Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai and Chairman of the Police Chiefs Council at the Ministry of Interior, chaired the Council’s sixth meeting of 2025, held remotely this morning with the participation of police chiefs, senior officers, and officials from the Ministry of Interior.

The Council addressed several key agenda items, foremost among them the results of the first half of 2025 regarding the road accident fatality index per 100,000 people, which revealed a notable decline in death rates. Tamim commended this achievement, highlighting it as a significant indicator of the relentless efforts made by traffic departments nationwide. He further stressed the importance of stepping up these efforts to reach even better outcomes.

In addition, the Council reviewed the outcomes of the Police Station on Your Phone and Wasil Investigator services, including statistics on the nature and number of reports received through these platforms.

Discussions also covered the performance of the Permanent Awareness Committee in child protection initiatives during the first half of 2025, covering awareness campaigns, community programs, targeted groups, and the number of beneficiaries.

The Council examined the findings of the Criminal Risk Committee, focusing on key preventive measures and initiatives to curb crimes of concern across the country. Further, it reviewed the latest measures taken to combat money laundering crimes, emphasizing the adoption of policies in accordance with the highest international standards to safeguard the nation against these crimes.

The meeting concluded with deliberations on additional topics on the agenda, as attendees made decisions and issued the necessary recommendations.
