First Session of the University Councils Initiative Kicks Off
The Ministry of Interior, through the Office for the Culture of the Law Respect Culture Bureau at the General Department of Community Protection and Crime Prevention, has launched the University Councils initiative, an effort designed to raise awareness of national values and promote positive behaviors among university students across the UAE.
The inaugural council took place at Ajman University, where specialists and academics introduced the Values and Behaviors of the Emirati Citizen document and discussed its importance with students.
As part of the Ministry’s broader community awareness strategy, the initiative sheds light on the Values and Behaviors document, which serves as a key national reference for strengthening identity and embedding principles such as respect for the law, integrity, cooperation, belonging, and mutual respect.
The Ministry emphasized that this initiative reflects its commitment to nurturing a culture of lawfulness within society while engaging young people in constructive dialogue. By encouraging university students to explore these values, the program supports the consolidation of positive behaviors and empowers youth to play an active role in community service.
Through the University Councils, students are given an open platform to exchange views with officials and experts, discuss challenges facing their generation, and better understand their responsibilities toward sustainable development and the safeguarding of national achievements. This initiative reflects the wise leadership’s vision of building a cohesive society anchored in values, identity, and commitment.
