MOI Hosts Virtual Seminar to Mark World Social Responsibility Day

The Ministry of Interior, through the General Directorate of Public Relations and Protocol, organized a virtual seminar to mark the World Social Responsibility Day, observed annually on September 25. This year’s seminar was held under the theme: A Better World: Digital Partnerships for Sustainable Development, highlighting the critical role of integrating digital innovation with social responsibility and stepping up institutional and technological collaborations to achieve meaningful and sustainable societal impact.

In its opening remarks, the Ministry highlighted that World Social Responsibility Day is celebrated as part of the initiatives of the Year of Community 2025, reflecting its conviction that society forms the cornerstone of national progress and development. The Ministry noted that social responsibility has become a well-established pillar of the UAE’s national strategy, embodying the vision of the wise leadership. It stressed that all departments and sectors are committed to continuously adopting innovative digital and social initiatives along the lines of the UAE government’s priorities in leadership, innovation, and philanthropy, ultimately contributing to the creation of a safe, sustainable, and thriving society.

The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to pioneering initiatives in the digital and social arenas that keep pace with global advancements and translate the government’s vision into action. These efforts, it noted, not only cultivate a secure and responsible environment but also reinforce comprehensive development while positioning the UAE as a global leader in social responsibility and digital transformation.

The seminar featured Khaled Mohammed Al Saadi, Director of the Awareness and Integration Department at the Family Care Authority in Abu Dhabi, who shared insights from the Authority’s social responsibility initiatives. He indicated that some qualitative initiatives are rolled out targeting families and society, focusing on raising awareness and boosting the values of social cohesion. Al Saadi stressed that social responsibility is an ongoing journey to create impact, built on the collective efforts of institutions and individuals, adding that knowledge-sharing among different entities fosters sustainable solutions that efficiently serve community members.

Sindiya Abdul Rahman, Head of the Volunteers Section at the Sharjah Social Services Department, also addressed the seminar, emphasizing that volunteering and community work are deeply rooted values in Emirati society, forming the foundation for social cohesion and a sustainable community. She noted that volunteer initiatives create a culture of giving among younger generations and advance the Sustainable Development Goals through practical projects with benefits for all segments of society.
