MOI Engages in Panel Discussion at UAE University: “Our Children are Our Future.. Protecting Them is a Trust”
The Ministry of Interior took part in a panel discussion at the United Arab Emirates University titled Our Children are Our Future.. Protecting Them is a Trust, focusing on the critical importance of child protection.
The Ministry’s Child Protection Center took part in this session, held at the university’s Al Ain campus, where discussions centered on enhancing child safety. Captain Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Head of the Prevention, Awareness, and Guidance Department at the Center, along with Abeer Al Hammadi, Director of the Preventive Protection Branch, led the main discussion.
They highlighted the role of law enforcement in child protection, covering the legal framework, reporting procedures, and effective prevention strategies. Their presentation emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Interior and its partners to strengthen child protection, adopting best international practices. They discussed relevant child protection laws, innovative applications, and projects implemented by the Ministry to bolster safety measures.
Additionally, they outlined the various reporting methods available through the Ministry and associated agencies, which prioritize both safety and privacy. The session also featured insights from specialists and academics, who explored various aspects of child protection.
Topics included medical care for children, identifying early warning signs, intervention strategies, the psychological impact of abuse, behavioral indicators, and methods of providing psychological support. They also discussed a comprehensive approach to child protection, stressing the importance of collaboration and integrated efforts among all relevant parties to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
