MOI Takes Part in Rabdan Academy’s 2nd “Centers of Excellence” Conference

The Ministry of Interior actively participated in the second edition of the Centers of Excellence conference, themed Resilience and Readiness of the First Responder. Hosted by Rabdan Academy, the conference gathered international and local leaders, experts, and specialists in security, safety, defense, emergency preparedness, and crisis management.
Lieutenant Colonel Dana Hamid Al Marzouqi, Director General of the International Affairs Office at the Ministry of Interior, delivered a keynote address on the second day. She began by expressing gratitude to Rabdan Academy for organizing this essential conference and its ongoing commitment to developing vital skills and expertise.
Al Marzouqi emphasized the indispensable role of first responders, noting that their dedication extends beyond mere duty to a profound commitment to safeguarding others. She highlighted that achieving excellence in first response is an ongoing journey of growth and improvement. According to Al Marzouqi, continuous learning, innovation, and adapting to evolving challenges are essential for building stronger response capabilities. She stressed that enhancing first responder capabilities is a necessity, achievable through advanced training, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and fostering cross-border knowledge-sharing to ensure peak preparedness.
The Ministry of Interior’s Security Qualifications Center head, Colonel Dr. Khalfan Al Naqbi, contributed to a panel on Future Needs for National Qualifications in Safety, Security, Defense, Emergency Preparedness, and Crisis Management, joined by experts from the UAE Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority. In a separate session on the conference’s first day, Eitan Shernoff from the Safe Communities Forum presented a research paper on fire management, examining the first responder’s role in managing fires and mitigating emergencies. He underscored the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration for effective emergency response. This year’s Centers of Excellence conference explored key themes such as integration and operational compatibility for first responders in the face of growing challenges from natural disasters, geopolitical tensions, and emerging threats. The conference hosted global researchers and speakers specializing in fire management, counterterrorism, safety, and security, who analyzed case studies to draw insights and promote operational integration in response to major incidents. The event featured research presentations, workshops, and lectures on critical topics such as fire management, counterterrorism, and safety protocols.
