A specialized seminar for the MoI on the International Day of Human Fraternity
The MoI, represented by the Human Rights Department, organized a specialized symposium on the International Day of Human Fraternity, in which the world’s population celebrates the importance of consolidating the values of solidarity, justice, equality, respect for others and coexistence.
The event, which was held in the Ministry’s building, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Ali Al Shehhi, Director of the Human Rights Department at the Ministry, was attended by a number of employees of the Ministry and students of the Police College. Rashid Ibrahim Al-Mutawa Al-Nuaimi, strategic planning advisor at the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Dr. Lamia Al Zarouni from the Human Rights Department at the MoI had a speech in this event which was moderated by the journalist Fahd Haikal.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Ali Al Shehhi mentioned in his speech at the beginning of the symposium that the UNGA adopted a resolution unanimously declaring that the 4th February of each year is the "International Day of Human Fraternity", as part of an initiative presented by the UAE, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through which it was decided that the international community will celebrate this day annually, starting in 2021, and called on all Member States to continue promoting a culture of peace to help ensure peace and achieve sustainable development.
During the lecture, the speakers emphasized the pivotal role of the UAE, with the vision of its wise leadership, in promoting human values and spreading the concepts of tolerance among the peoples of the world. .
They said that the UAE is a unique model of tolerance and the consolidation of the values of human brotherhood through its approach based on tolerance, coexistence, dialogue and respect for the cultures of others. To promote brotherhood, growth and prosperity instead of wars and conflicts.
