His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has recently met His Excellency Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khyeli, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and the accompanying delegation at the Dubai Police General Headquarters.
Dubai Police Assistant Commanders-in-Chief and several senior officers from the Ministry of Interior and Dubai Police also attended the meeting.
Lieutenant General Al Marri welcomed Major General Al Khyeli and briefed him on Dubai Police's smart services and artificial intelligence technologies implemented across various departments and police stations to achieve excellence in police work, enhance rapid emergency response, improve security and safety, and ensure the happiness of community members.
The Command and Control Centre
Lieutenant General Al Marri accompanied Major General Al Khyeli to the Command and Control Centre of the General Department of Operations, where they received a briefing on the centre's operations, latest services, and initiatives that enhance the speed of emergency response. They also examined the centre's latest upgrades, including the 3D map and patrol management and monitoring systems. They then ended the tour to the centre with a short film demonstrating Dubai Police's swift response to an emergency call.
Daily Brief Rooms
Major General Al Khyeli was also briefed on the success of the "Daily Brief" rooms in police stations across Dubai, which provide a daily security summary from one shift of officers to the next. This initiative has contributed to preventing crime rates, traffic accidents and fatalities while fostering a motivating work environment that emphasises continuous learning and enhanced communication among staff.
Work Environment
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior was then informed about Dubai Police's internal work environment, policies for promoting happiness and positivity, and the latest evaluation, governance, and institutional development methods. Additionally, he was briefed on the achievements of the practical training program for university students, which offers them practical experience and training in various scientific fields at Dubai Police.
Smart "Effad" Program
They also reviewed the "Effad" smart program, designed to facilitate communication among Dubai Police scholars within and outside the UAE. This platform is an electronic gateway for university and school students to stay connected.
Government Initiatives Councils
Major General Al Khyeli was briefed on the tasks of the Government Initiatives Councils at Dubai Police, which include ten different councils, highlighting the pioneering achievements of the Young Leaders Council and the empowerment of youth in policy and strategy formulation. Al Khyeli was also acquainted with the INTERPOL's Young Global Police Leaders program.
UAE SWAT Challenge
The Undersecretary learned about Dubai Police's woman empowerment initiative in the security sector and the force's annual UAE SWAT Challenge, which attracts elite tactical teams worldwide.
Achievements
Major General Al Khyeli was briefed on the achievements of the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology, which applies best international criminal practices, advanced technology, and electronic systems, contributing to the rapid completion of reports and solving complex cases.
Community Policing
The MoI delegation also visited the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID), where they learned about the crime prevention department's efforts to enhance security and safety and the "Policeman in Your Neighbourhood" initiative, which encourages Dubai Police personnel to volunteer as liaisons between their communities and the force.
Money Transport Smart Bag
They were also shown the new smart money transport bag designed to thwart theft attempts, featuring ink to damage money if the bag is tampered with, an alarm, a tracking device, and a smoke device to deter thieves. The bag is made from solid material to prevent break-ins.
E-crime Platform
The delegation reviewed the E-crime platform's operations, which allows the public to report cybercrimes easily via www.ecrime.ae, covering crimes such as electronic extortion, hacking, and financial fraud involving credit card misuse. They also discussed the achievements of the wanted persons management department, including high-profile international arrests.
Al Muraqqabat Police Station
Lieutenant General Al Marri and Major General Al Khyeli then visited the Al Muraqqabat Police Station, the first traditional station transformed into an SPS (Smart Police Station). The station offers 24/7 services without human intervention, including criminal, traffic, certificate issuance, and community services.
Ghiath Patrol
The delegation was introduced to the "Ghiath" patrol, the world's first of its kind, equipped with advanced smart systems and AI technology, enhancing police work in security and traffic management.
As he exchanged commemorative shields with Lieutenant General Al Marri towards the end of the visit, Major General Al Khyeli expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Dubai Police's pioneering efforts in enhancing security and community safety, commending their advanced initiatives and exceptional services. He highlighted the UAE police's distinguished journey, contributing to its international reputation and competitiveness.
