100 Specialist Officers Graduate from the Philippine National Police’s Child and Women Protection Center Through UAE Ministry of Interior’s International Program

The UAE Ministry of Interior celebrated the graduation of 100 members of the Philippine National Police in a ceremony held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. This event was part of an international cooperation effort and a pioneering initiative spearheaded by the UAE's Ministry of Interior, specifically through its Child Protection Center. The initiative, known as the "Child Protection Specialist Program," aims to train specialists in child protection as well as other critical areas to enhance crime prevention and protection efforts.

The closing ceremony was attebded by Major General Purita Manalad, Head of the Women and Child Protection Center, along with the Philippine police leadership. They expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the UAE and its Ministry of Interior for their dedicated efforts and fruitful collaboration. The distinguished training program was lauded for its comprehensive themes, showcasing remarkable progress and development. It played a pivotal role in equipping participants with essential skills and exposing them to modern knowledge, enabling them to enhance their capabilities and effectively address various cases related to safeguarding and protecting children's rights.

The program, which commenced in July and lasted for approximately one month, offered intensive and holistic training. The curriculum included a variety of topics delivered through an innovative hybrid format, blending in-person sessions with virtual lectures. Key areas of focus included responding to cases of child abuse, handling electronic forensic evidence, training on the use of the AI-based platform "AI for Safer Child" to combat online child exploitation, gathering evidence, and conducting interviews with children in abuse cases.

Other topics covered were the welfare of social workers, positive thinking and mental focus, as well as international legislation relevant to child protection. This collaboration was initiated following a request from the Philippine side to leverage the UAE’s expertise in child protection, policing, and cybercrime response.

Notably, this program was initially launched in the UAE, where it has successfully trained and enhanced the capabilities of Ministry of Interior personnel, empowering them with the skills and professionalism necessary to protect children and address related challenges with the highest level of efficiency.
