MOI Organizes Virtual Workshop to Introduce Doctors to the “Bin Wraiqa” Emergency Service

In line with its ongoing efforts to improve government services and enhance rapid emergency response, the Ministry of Interior, through the General Directorate of Happiness and in coordination with the Dubai Police General HQs, organized a virtual workshop for doctors to introduce the Bin Wraiqa service. The initiative is designed to support medical professionals by facilitating their commute to hospitals during critical emergencies.

The workshop was held for the doctors working in healthcare facilities across the UAE, with the aim of explaining the service and its role in expediting emergency response, protecting lives, and ensuring timely medical intervention.

Participants were briefed on several aspects of the initiative, including its objectives, the way it operates, requirements for registration and authorization, and its broader strategic impact. Among the key goals highlighted were enhancing the efficiency of medical teams, overcoming delays and operational challenges, and improving coordination among relevant institutions to ensure the service’s success.

The program also shared practical case experiences and discussed future plans to expand the service, both in terms of the medical specialties included and the regions covered nationwide.

The Bin Wraiqa initiative, rolled out by the Ministry of Interior, is a proactive community service that enables frontline doctors to reach hospitals and health facilities more swiftly in emergencies. It grants special road-use privileges for doctors driving their private vehicles during urgent situations, while ensuring their own safety and that of other road users. The system is governed by strict legal and regulatory frameworks: doctors must belong to specialties approved by the program, hold valid medical licenses, and complete accredited training on the safe use of vehicles during emergency response. The service helps reduce response times to critical cases, minimizes losses caused by delays, particularly during crises, traffic congestion, or difficult geography, and reinforces trust in the state’s capacity to safeguard the community and strengthen public confidence in the health sector.

This workshop reflects the Ministry of Interior’s vision of strengthening coordination among national entities and raising preparedness levels for rapid emergency response through innovative government services that align with international best practices.
