Specialized Training Courses Launched for “Drug Prevention Guide”
The Anti-Narcotics Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has launched its first comprehensive specialized training courses in Ajman focused on the Drug Prevention Guide. These courses aim to introduce key components of the guide, such as identifying narcotic and psychotropic substances and understanding methods for early abuse detection.
The training covers essential prevention strategies and defines the roles and responsibilities of educators and parents in protecting students. It also details the UAE’s anti-narcotics laws, equipping participants with the skills to prevent substance abuse and understand its effects on mental health.
The program emphasizes the importance of providing psychological and social support for individuals at risk and designing awareness programs that promote a drug-free environment conducive to the healthy development of children and youth. Participants will learn to collaborate effectively with health and security agencies for appropriate intervention and will be trained to involve families in prevention efforts.
Spanning a month and taking place across several emirates, these courses aim to enhance preventive awareness and foster cooperation between government bodies to spread knowledge about the dangers of drug and psychotropic substance abuse.
Led by specialists from the Ministry of Interior’s General Administration for Combating Drugs, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, the training will qualify 220 educational and administrative staff to become proficient in the principles of the drug prevention guide.
