MOI Steps Up Global Efforts Against Cryptocurrency Crime at International Security Forum

The Ministry of Interior, represented by its International Affairs Office, participated in the International Cryptocurrency Security Action Week workshop, held in Singapore by the Secure Communities Forum in collaboration with Mastercard. The gathering united senior representatives from global law enforcement bodies, technology leaders, and the private sector to bolster digital security and confront the growing challenges of cryptocurrency-related crime.

Tailored for law enforcement officers and security professionals, the workshop drew participation from dozens of international organizations and hundreds of experts. Among them were the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), INTERPOL, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the Royal Malaysian Police, the Data Security Council of India, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Rabdan Academy, along with leading technology and data analytics companies worldwide.

Over the course of the event, discussions and practical training sessions focused on three critical areas: investigating cryptocurrency crimes through advanced methods for tracking fraud, combating money laundering, and monitoring dark web activities; fostering stronger cooperation between public institutions and private platforms by connecting law enforcement agencies with cryptocurrency exchanges and analytics firms; and providing forward-looking insights through expert lectures on digital assets, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
