MOI Joins Global Leaders in International Cryptocurrency Security Action Week
The Ministry of Interior, through its International Affairs Office, took part in the International Cryptocurrency Security Action Week workshop, hosted by the Secure Communities Forum in partnership with Mastercard in Singapore. The event brought together global leaders from law enforcement, technology, and the private sector to advance digital security and counter cryptocurrency-related crimes.
Designed for law enforcement officers as well as security and public safety specialists, the workshop attracted dozens of international organizations and hundreds of experts. Key participants included the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), INTERPOL, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the Royal Malaysian Police, the Data Security Council of India, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Rabdan Academy, and several of the world’s leading technology and data analytics firms.
Discussions and training sessions focused on three core themes: tackling cryptocurrency crime through practical exercises on fraud detection, anti-money laundering strategies, and monitoring dark web activity; strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors by fostering cooperation among law enforcement bodies, cryptocurrency exchanges, and analytics firms to confront cross-border threats; and exploring global perspectives through expert-led lectures on digital assets, regulatory trends, and emerging risks.
